During last Friday’s Annual General Meeting of the Malta Chamber of Psychologists, Ms. Gail Debono was elected as the new President of the chamber.

Ms. Debono is a Forensic Psychologist within the Correctional Services Agency and in private practice. Gail is also a guest lecturer for the Masters in Forensic Psychology stream within the Psychology Department of the Faculty for Social Wellbeing at the University of Malta. She is specialised in the processing of trauma and is trained in EMDR therapy.

The Chamber would also like to thank the outgoing President Professor Marilyn Clark for her contribution to the development of the Chamber and her continued dedication to the psychology profession in Malta. Professor Clark will remain on the council as executive secretary. Much gratitude also goes out to the other Council members – both outgoing and incumbent – for their sterling service.

Ms Debono vouched that the Chamber will continue to build on the stellar work of the previous committees, and continue to grow both as the representative organisation of the psychology profession in Malta, and as the Union of its members. The Chamber will also continue to represent the Maltese psychology profession and its members on international fora.

The incoming Chamber of Psychologists committee is comprised of Ms Gail Debono, Dr. Adele Muscat, Ms. Claire Bonello, Ms. Erika Muscat Genovese, Ms. Jo Christine Scicluna, Dr. Kevin Sammut Henwood, Ms. Mariella Mamo, Prof. Marilyn Clark, Prof. Mary Anne Lauri, Dr. Miriam Geraldi Gauci, and Dr. Paul Daniel Micallef.
