This course provides reflective and practical skills to work with various client populations by integrating concepts and techniques from various schools of thoughts, most predominantly: person-centred, psychodynamic and third wave therapies, such as CBT.

This series of workshops is designed for individuals with a first degree in helping professions such as psychology, social work, youth work, and occupational therapy. It is also suitable for those seeking to expand their knowledge and skills in supporting others in need.

📜 Accreditation

This course consists of 23 hours of live training, and is accredited by the Malta Psychology Profession Board [MPPB]. It offers 30 CPD hours.

Kindly note that, whereas this course does not confer a professional title, it is intended to enhance your comprehension of interpersonal dynamics within the context of a helping relationship. This will complement and augment your prior training and increase the potential for advanced studies by refining your professional skills.

80% attendance is required for the receipt of the participation certificate. The certificate will reflect the exact number of hours attended.

🧑🏾‍🏫 Facilitators

Ms. Graziella Zammit

Ms. Graziella Zammit is a warranted clinical psychologist who graduated from the University of Malta in 2004 with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours). Subsequently, she completed her Master’s in Clinical Psychology at the same University in 2009.

She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in various contexts, such as the Eden Foundation and the Child Guidance Clinic. She is currently working in private practice whereby she carries out psychological interventions with adults experiencing either cognitive, emotional or behavioural difficulties as well as general life challenges (such as self-esteem or anxiety issues).

Ms. Zammit also has a special interest in perinatal mental health. In her work she adopts a resilience perspective and strives to work systematically so as to address the needs of her clients in a holistic way.

Dr. Miriam Geraldi Gauci

Dr. Miriam Geraldi Gauci is an warranted counselling psychologist and supervisor. She has received training and gained valuable experience in both general and specialised healthcare settings, locally and in the United Kingdom. She specialises in working therapeutically with individual adults and occasionally, with groups and families. For more than 15 years, she has also been actively engaged in training and lecturing.

Dr. Geraldi Gauci’s professional training and experience extends to various psychological difficulties including relationship problems, anxiety, depression, panic disorder, emotion dysregulation, trauma and attachment disorder. In her practice, she combines insights from various psychological models, describing herself as an integrative counselling psychologist.

Dr. Geraldi Gauci’s perspective on psychological therapy centres on the belief that symptoms and psychological disorders arise from an intricate interplay of factors deeply intertwined with an individual’s self and social experience. Consequently, she places great importance on the therapeutic relationship as a crucial catalyst for facilitating change.
